News:

Out of Hours
Out of hours GP services are arranged by North Tyneside Primary Care Trust and are provided by qualified doctors and nurses. You may receive telephone advice from a doctor or be asked to attend a local primary care centre for an examination. If, for medical reasons, travel is impossible, a home visit from a doctor can be arranged. For out of hours services please telephone 0300 123 4343.

Telephone advice/consultations
Sometimes you may want to speak to a doctor or nurse about something but do not need to come into the surgery for a  face-to-face appointment.

If you would like to talk to someone over the phone, you can contact reception, who will take your number and arrange a suitable time

Cancelling your Appointment
If you are unable to attend an appointment with one of the doctors or nurses, please telephone or use the link at the bottom of this page to cancel your appointment.

NHS Health Checks

The government has instructed that everybody between the ages of 40 and 74 should be offered a new NHS Health Check.  The purpose of the check is to reduce the risks of those who are currently well developing a cardiovascular disease (eg diabetes, high blood pressure or heart problems).  Those who have already had one of these types of illnesses diagnosed already are therefore not included in these checks - we will be checking up on you already.

We are writing to a few patients each week to invite them for a first screening appointment with our Healthcare Assistant.  There is then a follow-up appointment with one of our senior nurses 4 weeks later.  The nurse will go through the test results, and make a plan with you about how to reduce any risks you may run and also to agree with you what further investigations or treatments might be appropriate.
